And when the Sabbath day had come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, “From whence hath this man these things? And what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?

What is this wisdom [this confident understanding of the Scripture] that has been given to Him, and such miracles as these performed by His hands?

What is the wisdom [the broad and full intelligence which has been] given to Him? What mighty works and exhibitions of power are wrought by His hands!

And having become Sabbath, He began to teach in the synagogue. And while listening, many were astounded, saying “From where did these things come to this One? And what is the wisdom having been given to this One? And such miracles taking place by His hands!
And when the sabbath was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were in admiration at his doctrine, saying: How came this man by all these things? and what wisdom is this that is given to him, and such mighty works as are wrought by his hands?

He’s only the carpenter, Mary’s son, the brother of James, Joses, Judas and Simon; and his sisters are living here with us!” And they were deeply offended with him. But Jesus said to them, “No prophet goes unhonoured—except in his native town or with his own relations or in his own home!”

And his sisters live right here among us.” And they were offended!
He left there and returned to his hometown. His disciples came along. On the Sabbath, he gave a lecture in the meeting place. He stole the show, impressing everyone. “We had no idea he was this good!” they said. “How did he get so wise all of a sudden, get such ability?”
When the Sabbath came, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, “Where did this Man get this? What is this wisdom that is given Him, that even miracles are done by His hands?

And many heard him, and wondered in his teaching, and said, Of whence cometh to this [man] all these things? and what is the wisdom that is given to him, and such works of power which be made by his hands?
